Did you know that a day at the beach can have a positive effect on one’s emotions? Or that even looking at a relaxing beach scene can have a calming effect? Maybe that’s why many people choose to spend their vacations at the water’s edge, either at the ocean, lake or river.
Where might you want to spend your next “water vacation?”
On an Island
There are so many island destinations around the world with fantastic beaches upon which to relax, as well as great diving, snorkeling and swimming opportunities.
Most people instantly think of the Hawaiian Islands of Hawaii, Maui, Oahu and Kauai. But if you’ve been to Hawaii and want to try something new, how about St. John, the smallest of the U.S. Virgin Islands? St. John was voted one of the “Top 5 Islands in The Caribbean, Bermuda, and the Bahamas,” by Travel + Leisure in 2006, voted one of the “Top 10 Caribbean/Atlantic Islands” by readers of Conde’ Nast Traveler in 2006, and voted “All-Around Destination” by readers of Caribbean Travel & Life in 2005.
The climate on St. John is nothing short of fantastic, ranging from the low 80s during the winter to the low- to mid-nineties in the summer. Lodging options range from pricey resorts on the beach (Caneel Bay Resort) to quite reasonable modest inns with shuttles that take you to the beach. One such modestly-priced inn is The Inn at Tamarind Court. With 20 units, 14 with bathroom, The Inn at Tarmarind Court starts at $110 - $120 for a double room in the off-season, $148 in the winter. You can reach them at 800/221-1637.

Italy or Repubblica Italiana or Italia is a country in Southern Europe. Italy is nicknamed as Boot because of its boot like geographical shape. Italy is a peninsula extending into the central Mediterranean Sea, northeast of Tunisia.
The independent countries of San Marino and the Vatican City are located within the Italian territory. Italy shares its northern alpine boundary with France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia.
Italian is the official language, and the Eternal City-Rome is the capital and the largest city of Italy.

Make beautiful Bologna or captivating Capri the first stop on your search for overseas property says David Redfern…
Think of Italy and you’re most likely to think of its love affair with fashion and fast cars than a second home in the sun. Outstanding cuisine, delicious wines, stunning countryside and a rich cultural heritage all still figure but the eternally stylish nation has been more often than not a leader not a follower when it comes to property trends. Until now that is.
Casting off its underdog status in the last few years, Italy is rapidly usurping traditional favourites like Spain and France with its eclectic range of state of the art villas and dilapidated country houses ripe for restoration.
A Tuscan Tale (Of Caution)
The well trodden path from Tuscany is an immediate favourite for first time house hunters eager to enjoy familiar creature comforts. Fulled by a thousand postcard images, it’s already a challenge to find an apartment or villa well matched to a modest investment budget. The canny bargain hunter should instead look to the east and venture into the lush countryside of Umbria. Only an hour or so from Florence by train, Umbria is an area largely unspoilt and un-chartered by foreign buyers.
The only land locked region in Italy, Umbria and its capital Perugia overflows with an abundance of culture and history. Home of the Etruscans and a suffering an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the arts, Umbrian property hunters focusing their search on the regional capital will find apartments and country properties with ease.

Sometimes just standing on the beach or going for a nice quiet walk in the mountains is not enough; if your job has you sitting behind a desk 8 or more hours a day on vacation you might want to be doing something else than standing around, no matter how beautiful the surroundings are.
Some people are naturally adventurous, but in case you aren’t maybe an extreme vacation will be the experience of a life time! Let’s see how you can spice up your life the next time you go on vacation:
1. Shark diving - I don’t know about you, but shark diving is as extreme as you could get! Yes, you are in a cage (sometimes, if you prefer) and yes, you get detailed instructions on what to do and what not to do. But let’s face it, it wouldn’t be extreme if those sharks could be controlled and that danger is what is exciting.
And how much are you going to pay to risk life and limb? Well, dig around for a few details and you will probably see packages for around $2500 per person.

A passport is very similar to a driver’s license in the United States. It is an globally recognized document, typically used for international travel, verifying who you are and where you’re from. Most countries require a valid passport to enter or exit. All countries issue their own globally recognized passports, the US included. The U.S. Department of State is the division of the government with the authority to grant, issue and verify United States passports.
To apply for a new passport, you’ll need some documentation proving who you are and some time to go apply. Recent changes in the passport regulations require that most applicants must appear in person to apply for one.
US citizens that have never received a passport before should bring a certified birth certificate; current and valid driver’s license, government or military ID; two passport photos that meet the requirements below and fees of $97 plus optional $60 expedited service.

Ask anyone who works from nine to five, Monday through Friday, then spends the weekend doing laundry and housecleaning, what it is he or she dreams of doing that is out of the ordinary. Without batting an eye, I’d bet a week’s pay that his or her response would be “To be able to take a couple of days away from work so I can spend some quality time with my family.”
What stops people from having that long desired holiday anyway? Based on my own practical experience, two things would — money, because most holidays require a lot of it, and time, because most of the attractive vacation spots are located far away from home.
Not so if you live anywhere near to or just a few minutes away from Sea Isle City, New Jersey. The reason: the invitingly cozy Colonnade Inn and its wonderful vacation offer.
A grand house built in 1883 as a summer hotel, the Colonnade Inn in the lovely and popular seaside resort of Sea Isle City, New Jersey, used to be just one of many hotels that provided shelter and a deliciously warm and hearty breakfast to the throngs of holiday-seekers from Philadelphia who are eager to get away from the heat of summer in the city.
